Medical Director Wanted
Christian Family Medicine, Inc. is currently seeking a Christian individual to serve as Medical Director at our clinic. The applicant must have obtained a MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
Salary will be based upon the applicant’s area of expertise, specialty, and practice experience. The standard source for salary packages will be primarily derived from the 2006 MGMA Physician Compensation and Production Survey. All salary and compensation packages will be negotiable.
In order for us to inquire of one’s spiritual condition during the interview process, this will be an independent contractor position. All benefit information will be outlined in the Medical Director contract.
It will include:
- 40 hours sick leave per year. Any unused sick time will accrue over subsequent years. The total number of accumulated hours can not exceed 240.
- 120 hours of vacation per year. These hours do not “roll over” from year to year.
- 40 hours continuing education allowance per calendar year.
- Opportunities for financial bonuses will be outlined in the contract.
- The Medical Director will be allotted a health insurance allowance of $500 per month.
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide quality, comprehensive healthcare services to the patients of Christian Family Medicine, Inc., including assessments, diagnoses and medical treatments. Function as Primary Preceptor to the Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a Christ-like attitude with patients and staff at all times.
- Serve as Medical Director of Christian Family Medicine, Inc.
- Provide quality, comprehensive patient healthcare services.
- Function as Primary Preceptor to the Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
- Develop and maintain the Medical Protocol Manual in conjunction with the Advanced Nurse Practitioners and participate in Christian Family Medicine, Inc.’s review of procedures as required to maintain Rural Health Clinic certification.
- Responsible for the content, appropriate documentation, and maintenance of patient medical records as required by Tennessee’s “Rules and Regulations Governing the Utilization and Supervision of the Services of a Nurse Practitioner/Prescription Writer,” as the same may be amended from time to time and Physician shall carry out the clinical supervision requirements set forth at Section 0880-6-.02 in a manner to maximize a collaborative practice with the FNP’s and to facilitate the delivery of quality healthcare services to Christian Family Medicine, Inc.

- Physician shall comply with all requirements of third party payor plans applicable to the patients of Christian Family Medicine, Inc.
- Participate in medical record audits and attend subsequent educational programs.
- Assist, when necessary, with the supervision of Christian Family Medicine, Inc.’s daily operations to ensure the provision of quality healthcare services.
- Comply with all federal and state laws, statutes and regulations applicable to the delivery of healthcare services.
- Other duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Christian Family Medicine Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Perform in accordance with Professional Services Agreement/Physician Preceptor Agreement.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND LICENSURE:
- Doctor of medicine or osteopathy legally authorized to practice medicine or surgery in the State of Tennessee.
- Current licensure by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
- Current Professional Liability Insurance Coverage Policy.
- Must currently hold or be willing to obtain Medical Staff privileges at Baptist Memorial Hospital Lauderdale, Lauderdale County, Tennessee.
